On a drive from Vail, Colorado to New York, we happened on this place. Authentic food, reasonable service, booths for quieter eating. Soup was fabulous. Definitely will come back on next trip.

I love their chicken fajitas! Chips and salsa are also good. I can't really comment on their other dishes because I always get the fajitas. Good price, too.

The queso is amazing. Service is really fast. Stayed in Ponca City for 6 nights and ate here for 4 of them. Had the chicken adobe everytime it was really good. Margaritas were good as well.

El Patio feels like a standard large Mexican restaurant, and the menu is very typical, but it does not disappoint. The food is great. Both times I've been here, they food came out before you could blink. The salsa that comes with the chips is really yummy, and they give you a small pitcher of it to refill your dipping dishes as needed. Oh, and there's one dish per person, so double-dip all you want. The guacamole needed some more kick though. I've never seen a soda glasses as large as they have here. I'm always surprised (and maybe a bit ashamed?) when I need a refill. I had the combo fajitas, both steak and chicken, sizzling hot and spiced just right. It was exactly what I needed. I have yet to find a restaurant which serves enough tortillas with fajitas though. Why is that? There's really nothing fancy about the food though, which is something I really like about El Patio. I would rather have consistently good and simple food. As for the atmosphere, I love the giant atrium room with the giant fireplace. You could almost seat a table of 4 inside the fireplace. I really wonder what this place was originally. Was it a big house? Was it always a restaurant? Was part of it an addition? The only minor drawback is the parking lot. It would be easier to navigate if the stalls were angled.

Authentic Mexican food right here in Ponca City, Oklahoma. I eat here at least once a week. Haven't had EVERYthing on the menu, but almost....and have never been disappointed. The Patio is awesome this time of year. Couple that with a giant bowl of chicken soup and you've got an experience to die for. The shrimp cocktail and the fishbowl-sized margaritas are tops on my list of faves!! Be patient...English isn't spoken well here, but the desire to keep their patrons happy well makes up for that tiny inconvenience. In a hurry...go for the lunchtime buffet...a little bit of everything served to perfection!!!

We do lunches over dinner when we visit the joint. Nice menu selection, good food, nice portion, reasonable price for what you get. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy a meal this isn't it. Must be something with the interior layout that amplifies the sound of guests talking it's hard to hear or be heard unless you have to speak louder. Otherwise, I would recommend this place if you like Tex-Mex food.

Overrated is the best way to describe this place. The food is average to slightly above average. I came to try it out, but wont return. I've been told the place next to the movies (across from walmart) is owned by the same people and I enjoyed their food a lot better. I'll avoid the crowd and eat there.

Great service and reasonable price. Seems clean enough. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I grew up in south Texas and nothing in the world quite compares to the Mexican food there. But this place is the best Mexican food in Oklahoma and the guacamole is to kill for.

This will be a regular stopping place when I come to visit the parents. I wouldn't have guessed this place would have existed in PC, but it's on a par or better than most Mexican restaurants in Austin. Good salsa, not very hot. Excellent salsa made with tomatillos. Had the super burrito and my wife had the chile relleno. Mine was super...really. Queso was excellent. Chips were ok. Overall, the food was very good and prices were muy reasonable.

Loved the shrimp enchiladas! Maybe the best I've had anywhere. My wife enjoyed the fajita combo. Great chips and salsa, too. Few of the waiters seem to speak much English. My wife wanted hot water in a coffee mug... We got a tall ice water... Struggled to communicate the desire through a couple of waiters. We were served quickly... Then our waiter kind of disappeared. It took a while to get the check so we could leave. The food was great, though. Well worth any inconvenience.

Had supper there last night and this place is awesome. I had the Aros Con Camarones and it was the best I've ever had. The salsa was great as well as the cheese dip. Throw in pitchers of beer for $7.50 and you've got a great meal for a fair price. So good I might hit it again tonight.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
